What's a Janus worth?

  2. Excellent question. We spent about $20-25,000 per year on our gliders. Annuals, R&M, periodical checks etc. So about $3000 per glider per year plus the insurance in the hanger, cost of capital, and dep. So at a guess the Janus costs us $5000 per year (cash and non-cash). So maybe the comment I hear from time to time..."it costs us nothing to keep it" might need reviewing.

  5. Yip...it was a Janus...but now it would be the Duo.
    No we shouldn't sell everything...but do we need 4 two seaters in a post 115 environment???...I think not. Do we need 2 tow planes???...I think not...do we need 2 instructors rostered on every weekend???...I think not.
    Change is not a bad thing...
